Ghanaian midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is determined to make a comeback to the pitch after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a cruciate ligament tear.
The 28-year-old SC Freiburg player has been out of action for around one and a half years, but is now optimistic about his recovery and hopes to at least train with his team when the season begins.
According to a report by Badische Zeitung, Kyereh is making progress in his rehabilitation and is focused on transitioning from rehab to training. He has been working hard to regain his fitness and is confident that his knee feels better than ever.
Despite the prolonged recovery, Kyereh’s spirits remain high, thanks in part to the support from SC Freiburg. The club has ensured a stress-free environment for his rehabilitation, which has helped him stay positive and motivated.
“It’s been a few months longer now. Of course, I would have liked it to go faster. But when the knee says it needs a break, it drags on.”
It’s not far off. I want to be fit again by the start of the season and be able to train with the team,” he stated. At the training camp in Schruns, his session includes team activation and cycling, indicating clear progress compared to his earlier rehab stages.
Kyereh joined SC Freiburg in 2022 from St Pauli on a free transfer and is looking forward to making his mark on the pitch once again.
