The disappointment was everywhere after Sundowns’ elimination by Esperance in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League in Pretoria on Friday night.
The supporters expressed their dismay just like the players. The technical team of Sundowns too was not happy with the results.
After the game, Sundowns head coach Mokwena expressed his love for the Masandawana even though disappointment was written all over his face.
“I don’t run the club. I’m here because of the results and if they are not good enough I won’t be here. I want to be here, I love this club, I love the supporters, I love this incredible group of players. But it’s a results-oriented business,” – Rulani Mokwena.
Rulani Mokwena revealed that so far as Sundowns wants him, he will stay but if they decide to part ways with him, he will be okay with the decision.
Mamelodi Sundowns was eliminated by Wydad at this stage last season and suffered another elimination in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
