Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has set his sights on becoming one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season as he aims to improve his goalscoring and assist numbers for Coventry City.
The 27-year-old outlined his ambitions after registering an assist in Coventry’s 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night, marking his fourth start of the campaign.
Thomas-Asante has featured in seven Premier League matches since Coventry secured promotion to the English top flight, contributing two goal involvements as he continues to adapt to life at the highest level.
Despite Coventry’s difficult start to the season, the Ghana international remains focused on improving his individual output and playing a bigger role in the team’s attacking efforts.
“I want to be the best. So that starts with getting goals, getting assists and being effective,” Thomas-Asante said after the defeat.
“On an individual performance level, I want to make sure I’m physically imposing myself on games and showing my technical quality as well.
“But, you know, it’s early days, and we’re going to keep on building,” he added.
Coventry have endured a challenging return to the Premier League, winning just two of their opening seven matches.
The Sky Blues currently sit 17th on the league table, only one point above the relegation zone, and will need improved performances as they look to secure their top-flight status.
