Ghanaian center-back Salisu Mohammed has described Liverpool and Netherlands defender, Vigil Van Dijk as his role model and a player he looks up to in his career.
According to him, his biggest aim is to play like the Dutch captain who’s been playing consistently for the Reds in the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League competition respectively.
Ahead of Southampton FC clash against the Anfield fatefuls, the Ghanaian made it clear about his biggest wish being to play just like Van Dijk does.
“I think Virgil is a very good central defender and, I would say, is one of the very best central defenders in the world,” Salisu told Daily Echo.
The former Real Valladolid center-back also stated that, he is aiming to play at the top level like Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk in future.
“One day, I want to be like him, especially with how he plays and the confidence he has and how he leads the team.”
Liverpool will host Southampton FC this weekend at Anfield in a bid to keep the title chase on Chelsea and Salisu who has been in fine form since joining Southampton from La Liga side Real Valladolid last season is expected to start the game.
