Ghana international Ibrahim Osman has joined Dutch outfit Feyenoord on a season-long loan until the end of the 2024/25 football season.
The 19-year-old Black Stars winger is eager to make a significant impact at the club and help them achieve great things in the Eredivisie and in Europe.
Osman, who joined Brighton from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland on a five-year deal this summer, was part of the Premier League’s pre-season squad and made a couple of appearances. Despite impressing during preseason, the former Nordjaelland attacker has been loaned out for the new season to gain valuable experience and improve his game.
“I want to use my qualities to help the team achieve great things in the Eredivisie and in Europe,” Osman said after his move. “At Feyenoord, young players get the chance to develop. For my development, it is good to play here and improve aspects of my game.”
The enterprising winger impressed in Denmark last season, scoring ten goals and assisting eight in 44 appearances. He is expected to play a huge role for Feyenoord in the 2024/25 football season, which includes a Champions League campaign following their second-place finish in the league last season.
The loan move to Feyenoord is seen as an opportunity for Osman to gain valuable experience, similar to the development paths taken by Brighton players Kaoru Mitoma and Simon Adingra, who also benefited from loan spells before joining the first team.
Osman has already debuted for the Black Stars and is looking to cementing his place in the national team.
