Rio Ferdinand, a Manchester United legend, has revealed that he wished his former team had signed Thomas Partey before the Ghanaian midfielder joined Arsenal in 2020.
Speaking on the Vibe with FIVE podcast, Ferdinand expressed his admiration for Partey and emphasized that he rates him highly. He also referred to previous episodes of the show where he had expressed his desire for Man United to sign Partey before Arsenal snatched him up.
“I rate Partey…I’ve done clips that before he went to Arsenal, I was saying Man United should buy Partey,” he said.
During the discussion, when the topic of the Partey-Casemiro debate arose, Ferdinand stated that it would be unfair to compare the two midfielders, and he believed that Partey was a top player.
“I genuinely believe he is a top player but if you keep mentioning Casemiro, I don’t think it will be fair on him.”
In the current 2022/2023 season, Thomas Partey has been instrumental in Arsenal’s success, helping them lead the English Premier League table. The Gunners have not lost a game with him on the field, and they have only lost three games in total this season.
