Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has opened up on the increasing pressure surrounding his tenure. With inconsistent results, calls from fans for his dismissal, and the IMC scheduling a meeting to review his performance, Zito spoke candidly about the challenges he is facing and his belief in the team’s potential.

“At this moment, the results are not coming, and nobody is happy. But I am confident that success will come for any coach who takes over. I only wish to stay and experience it myself,” Zito said on Akoma FM, highlighting his personal commitment to Kotoko despite the scrutiny.

The coach also reflected on the fairness of the criticism:

“Considering our team and the results we’ve been getting, I don’t think it’s fair.”

Zito acknowledged the hurdles the team has faced, including injuries and tough fixtures, but remained optimistic about the future:

“Even if I’m not here, when this Kotoko team gets the consistency, it will be difficult for any team to beat them.”

The interview comes at a critical juncture for Kotoko, as fans grow increasingly impatient and management evaluates the team’s progress. Zito’s comments show a mix of realism, resilience, and hope — a clear message that he is determined to see Kotoko succeed, no matter the pressure.

With 13 matches still to play, the coming weeks will be crucial for Zito and his team as they aim to regain form and satisfy the expectations of both fans and the club hierarchy.
