Ajax’s head coach, Maurice Steijn, is determined to convince Mohammed Kudus to extend his stay at the club for another year, amidst growing interest from various clubs.

Recognizing the exceptional talent of the prized midfielder, Steijn emphasizes Kudus’s crucial role in the Dutch footballing powerhouse and believes that if he stays for another year, top clubs will come knocking.

“He has exceptional qualities. I hope he stays, he is perhaps our best player at the moment. If he stays, it would also give the rest a huge boost”, Steijn said to VI on Saturday.

“I have the feeling that if he stays for another year, the real top will come for him. Now it is just a bit below that. He would very much like to make a transfer himself. He has also indicated this to the management.”

“If we win the league and he scores 20 goals, clubs will pay double for him. This is what we are trying to tell him now”
