Ghana international Felix Afena-Gyan has lauded the performance of Cremonese following their win over Napoli in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old came off the bench to score late in the game and take it to extra time before the penalty shootout where he also scored the winning penalty.
Cremonese took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal from Charles Pickel, but Luciano Spalletti’s team responded with two goals from Juan Jesus and Giovanni Simeone.
Afena-Gyan, who had been on the bench, however, scored the equaliser with three minutes remaining in regulation, sending the game into overtime before penalties.
All but Stanislav Lobotka scored their kicks for Napoli in the shootout, while Cremonese scored all five of theirs.
Gyan, who has now scored two goals in the cup competition, took to social media sharing his excitement.
“A fantastic team effort tonight,” he wrote on Twitter.
