Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, chairman of Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee (IMC), has issued a stern warning that significant changes will be implemented if the club fails to secure victories in their upcoming matches.
The Porcupine Warriors are looking to bounce back after a 3-1 defeat to Heart of Lions last weekend at the Kpando Sports Stadium. Kotoko will host Aduana FC in the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash on Sunday, February 8, at the Baba Yara Stadium, before taking on their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in Matchday 22 of the Ghana Premier League next weekend.
High Stakes for Kotoko
Currently sitting 5th on the league table with 34 points, Kotoko face mounting pressure to deliver results in these critical games. Speaking to Akoma FM, Nana Apinkrah emphasized the need for immediate improvement.
“If we fail to beat Aduana FC and Hearts of Oak, major changes will occur within the team, including the players, technical staff, and management,” he stated.
FA Cup Defending Champions Under Pressure
Asante Kotoko, the reigning FA Cup champions, now find themselves at a crossroads. The chairman’s warning signals a no-nonsense approach, with the club poised to make decisive moves to ensure performance aligns with the expectations of their supporters.
