German-born Ghanaian defender Jan Gyamerah, has expressed excitement after completing his transfer move to FC Kaiserslautern before the start of the 2024/25 season.
The Berlin-born player with Ghanaian roots, who was trained at DSC Arminia Bielefeld and VfL Bochum, among others, has already shown at his previous stations that he can be used variably in the defensive unit.
While he was mainly used as a right-back at his last employer, 1. FC Nürnberg, he also played over 20 games in central defence for VfL Bochum and can play in the defensive chain and defensive midfield.
Gyamerah, who will now play for 1. FC Kaiserslautern after three years at Hamburger SV and two years at “Glubb”, comes to the Palatinate with the experience of over 170 second division games and led FCN onto the field ten times as captain last season.
“I’ve only played for traditional clubs so far, which was a decisive point for my decision to move to FCK. In addition, there were the very good discussions with the coach and the people in charge, which convinced me. I generally believe, that the club has a lot of potential and I am happy to be able to play my part in being successful together with FCK,” said Jan Gyamerah about his decision to join sign for the club.
