Athletic Bilbao striker, Inaki Williams has revealed that he’s experiencing of one of the best moments in his career due to the decision to represent Ghana on the international stage.
Williams, who had previously represented Spain at various youth levels, made headlines when he announced his intention to play for the Black Stars. The decision came after much consideration and soul-searching for the 29-year-old, who has Ghanaian heritage through his parents.
Speaking about his choice, Williams shared his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to don the Ghanaian jersey. He emphasized that joining the Black Stars has been one of the best moments of his career, highlighting the pride and honor he feels in representing his maternal heritage on the football pitch.
“I had to make a decision and I don’t regret being able to represent the country of my parents, my family. I think I’m in one of my best moments because of that decision I made to play with Ghana,” he told CdelDeportista reflecting on his choice.
Williams participated in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana, although the squad was eliminated early in the group stage in Ivory Coast.
To date, the 29-year-old has amassed 17 caps for Ghana, netting once, solidifying his commitment to the Black Stars.
