Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Life Patron of Asante Kotoko SC, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the frequent dissolution of the club’s Boards every three years.
He voiced his concerns about the short lifespan of the Boards that have managed the club since he assumed power, and he expressed regret that only the club has experienced such challenges among all the institutions under his authority.
The decision to dissolve the immediate past Board came about after news of their ongoing conflicts reached the King’s ears. Recognizing that the disagreements were unlikely to subside and could further harm the club, Otumfuo took the difficult decision to dissolve the Board after reviewing their report earlier that week.
Opening up about his sentiments regarding the recurring issue of Board dissolution, Otumfuo stated, “I’m not happy to dissolve boards after every three years. I always find people I believe can handle the Club. I choose Board members with the hope that they will run for a long time but they always get dissolved. It is disturbing.”
