Ghana captain Andre Ayew has explained why he chose to sign for Nottingham Forest over Everton.
The 33-year-old left Al Sadd after agreeing to a mutual termination of his contract and signed a six-month contract with the Reds.
The Ghanaian was linked with Everton upon his return to the Premier League, but he opted to work with his former manager Steve Cooper at the City Ground instead.
In his first interview with the team, Ayew detailed why he signed for Forest and what he will bring to the team.
“Steve Cooper is someone who knows me very well and knows how to work with me both on and off the pitch. We have a strong relationship, he’s a special coach and a special human being and someone who I really look up to,” he said.
“I know what I can bring to the team, I’m ready to give my all and make sure that we are able to stay in the Premier League.”
Ayew could feature for the club in their next league game against Leeds United.
