Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Tyrese Asante has expressed his joy after completing a move to Israeli powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv, signing a three-year deal with an option to extend by a further season.
The 22-year-old fullback has joined the Israeli outfit from Dutch side ADO Den Haag after passing his mandatory medical, and is expected to play a crucial role for the club in the upcoming football season.
Asante, who made 32 appearances for Den Haag last season and a total of 98 in all competitions since joining the club in July 2021, spoke highly of his new team and the opportunity to play for the biggest club in Israel.
“I am really happy to be here and sign for the biggest club in Israel,” Asante said. “I am looking forward to play in front of the Maccabi fans at Bloomfield stadium and ready to win more titles. Let’s make this season a successful one.”
Asante’s journey began at the Youth Academies of Feyenoord and Sparta Rotterdam, before he moved to HV & CV Quick, where he made his senior league debut at the age of 18.
