Medeama Sporting Club’s new head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, has pledged to give his best to the team and lead them to success.
The former Ghana U23 coach shared his commitment during his first interview since taking charge of the Ghana Premier League champions.
Speaking to Medi TV, Tanko promised to deliver results that will bring joy to the club’s fans. “I hope we are all going to enjoy, and I’m sure the team will do well. I will tell them [the fans] that I will always give my best, and I’m sure at the end they will all be happy,” he said.
Tanko also outlined his ambitions for the club, emphasizing his desire to add more trophies to Medeama SC’s cabinet. “We always want to be better. The success is there, and like I said, I’m here also to achieve something. So before the end of my tenure, I’m sure the cups will be more,” he added.
Medeama SC announced Tanko’s appointment on Wednesday, January 29, confirming that he has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club. In a statement, the club expressed its excitement about the new chapter. “Medeama Sporting Club is pleased to confirm the appointment of Coach Ibrahim Tanko on a two-and-a-half-year contract,” the statement read.
Tanko now faces the challenge of building on Medeama SC’s recent successes as he begins his tenure with high expectations from fans and management alike.
