Former Asante Kotoko left-back Imoro Ibrahim is on the brink of rejoining the club following the termination of his contract with Al Hilal Omdurman a few months ago.
The 24-year-old defender showcased an impressive performance during the 2021/22 season of the Ghana Premier League while with Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, where he emerged as the top assist provider with seven assists. Additionally, Imoro Ibrahim displayed his prowess in scoring beautiful free-kick goals.
Originally signed for Asante Kotoko ahead of the 2019/20 season by coach Maxwell Konadu on a free transfer, Imoro consistently demonstrated excellence since his arrival.
During his stint with the Porcupine Warriors, Imoro Ibrahim participated in seventy-three matches, scoring five goals and providing eight assists over three years before making a move to Al Hilal in Sudan.
Reports from Sportsworldghana indicate that Imoro Ibrahim and his management have submitted all necessary documents for his registration, anticipating his return ahead of the second round of the Ghana Premier League 2023/24 season. Despite the closure of the second transfer window, negotiations on personal terms between Asante Kotoko and Imoro Ibrahim are reportedly in advanced stages with the club offering him a 2-year deal.
The deal is expected to be finalized before the week concludes. Currently engaged in personal training in his hometown of Tamale, Imoro Ibrahim is on the verge of becoming the Porcupine Warriors’ third signing in the second transfer window, joining experienced Abdul Fatawu Safiu and right-back Emmanuel Kotei from Nsoatreman Football Club.
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club will kick off their second-round campaign in Tamale against Karela United Football Club in the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium before returning to Ghana Premier League action against Kpando Hearts of Lions Football Club Limited at the Hohoe Sports Stadium.
