In a thrilling encounter, Inter Allies have secured promotion to the Division One League next season after defeating West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) 4-1 in a penalty shootout in the Volta Region Division Two Middle League playoff.
The Capelli Boys showed remarkable resilience to overcome WAFA’s early lead, scoring an equalizer in the 53rd minute to take the game to a penalty shootout.
In the shootout, Inter Allies emerged victorious, securing a 4-1 win to clinch the Volta Region Division Two title and earn promotion to the Division One League.
This marks a significant turnaround for Inter Allies, who were relegated to the Division Two following a match-fixing scandal against Ashantigold during the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League campaign.
They will now compete in Zone 3 of the Division One League next season, with hopes of securing promotion back to the top-flight league.
The victory is a testament to the team’s determination and hard work, and they will be looking to build on this momentum as they prepare for their new challenge in the Division One League.
