Ghana’s Black Stars forward Kamaldeen Sulemana has opened up about his first Premier League goal for Southampton FC on the final day of 2022-23 season.

The Ghanaian international expressed his excitement following his impressive showings in the game against Liverpool FC at the St Mary’s stadiums.

Nonetheless, the former FC Nordsjaelland player wished he had scored the first goal of the season for the Saints earlier than when he bagged brace as his team was already relegated.

“It might have been too late but I’m glad I finally have my goal, it’s good for me,” Kamaldeen reflected, speaking to the Daily Echo.

“When I came here that is what I wanted to do – set up goals and score to help the team to get results. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do it but I got my goal.

“There’s a feeling of, why didn’t it come before, why didn’t I score before? But I am glad I have made my mark on the last day and showed what I can do on the good days.”

Sulemana scored a sumptuous and spectacular two goals in the English Premier League 2022-23 final day against Liverpool and will be brimming in confidence ahead of the tournament which stats on June 24 in Morocco.
