Bibiani Goldstars head coach, Frimpong Manso, widely known as ‘Mayanga,’ has acknowledged that his team struggled in the first half of their 1-1 draw with FC Samartex in an outstanding Ghana Premier League match-week 2 fixture.
Kelvin Oppong’s second-half equalizer salvaged a point for the Miners after Emmanuel Mamah had given the champions the lead at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking in the post-match press conference, the former Asante Kotoko defender described the game as a “tale of two halves.” He admitted that his side was outplayed in the first half but managed to bounce back strongly in the second after tactical adjustments.
“I think it was a difficult game, especially in the first half, where we struggled, but in the second half, when we made changes, things started getting better,” Manso explained. “For me, it was a game of two halves—they played in the first, and we took over in the second. We couldn’t keep possession and were losing the ball too easily, which made us run a lot and caused fatigue.”
Bibiani Goldstars have now secured two wins and two draws in the season and will prepare for a tough encounter against Bechem United at Dun’s Park this weekend.
