Italian-Ghanaian forward Kelvin Yeboah continued his impressive run in Major League Soccer after scoring the decisive goal to hand Minnesota United FC a hard-fought victory over former champions LA Galaxy in California.
Yeboah produced the match-winning moment in style, finishing off a move he had initially sparked with a sharp one-two involving Tomas Chancalay before calmly tapping home from close range.
Minnesota United had earlier taken control of the contest in the second half when Anthony Markanich broke the deadlock, but LA Galaxy responded through experienced German star Marco Reus, who levelled the score to bring the hosts back into the game.
However, Yeboah struck again just ten minutes later, delivering the decisive blow to secure all three points for Minnesota and register his third goal in just six MLS appearances.
Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil was notably absent from LA Galaxy’s matchday squad due to injury, which also kept him out of Ghana’s March international fixtures.
Although Yeboah previously represented Italy at youth level, the nephew of Ghanaian legend Tony Yeboah remains eligible to play for Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, keeping the door open for a potential future switch.
