Tano Bofoakwa’s head coach, Frimpong Manso, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of their opening game in the BetPawa Premier League.
The newly promoted team held Great Olympics to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, September 16.
Frimpong Manso shared his thoughts on the result during an interview with StarTimes.
“I think it’s a good results especially coming to Accra to play Great Olympics,” he said. “What initially we tried to do is not to concede, so we were very sure if we don’t win at least we don’t have to concede. “I think it falls within our expectation so for me I think it’s a good result for us”
He acknowledged the challenge of creating scoring opportunities and not converting them, adding, “The danger is when you are creating the chances and you don’t score and own of such comes to you.
Frimpong Manso emphasized that they aimed to protect their defense while also acknowledging missed opportunities. He concluded by saying that, for a start, the result is satisfactory and that they will work on correcting their mistakes in future matches.
“I think we tried to protect [ourselves] meanwhile we had some decent chances which we thought we could have taken it but this is football.
“For a start I think it’s ok, we cannot get everything right so we will go and then try to get correction from the mistakes we made.” Frimpong Manson told StarTimes.
