Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Agyekum has expressed his gratitude after making his senior debut for the Black Stars in their emphatic 5-0 victory over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The talented midfielder, who was handed his first cap in the match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night, described the moment as a lifelong dream fulfilled.
“Grateful to God for making it possible to make my debut with @GhanaBlackstars. It’s a great honor and a dream come true,” Agyekum shared on social media following the match.
Agyekum’s introduction to the national team comes at a crucial time, as Ghana pushes for qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His presence in midfield adds depth to Otto Addo’s squad, with the youngster eager to prove his worth in future matches.
The Black Stars have already arrived in Morocco ahead of their next qualifier against Madagascar on Monday, March 24, 2025.
A victory in that clash would further strengthen Ghana’s position in Group I, keeping them on course for a place in the global tournament.
