London-born Ghanaian striker Daniel Agyei, has expressed delight at his debut Black Stars call-up for the double-header international friendlies against Austria and Germany.
According to the former Burnley striker, being handed an invite to play for the Black Stars is something he does not take for granted at all, saying it’s a “massive honour”.
“It’s a massive honour to be be called up to the Ghana national team. As a player you always of dream of representing your country at this level so to finally get the opportunity means everything to me and I’m ready to do my all for the shirt” – Agyei told sportsworldghana.com in a brief chat after his debut call-up.
Agyei’s invitation is due to his exploits in the Turkish top-flight where he recently scored three goals in two league games for the newly promoted team.
The 28-year-old Kocaelispor striker, has so far this season netted four goals this season fos his side in the Turkish Süper Lig.
At Kocaelispor, Agyei has continued to use his pace, strength and attacking movement to help his team in the final third. His versatility allows him to play in multiple attacking positions, making him a valuable option for his coaches.
