Asante Kotoko’s assistant coach, Davido Ocloo, is appealing to the club’s fans to maintain their support during what he describes as a challenging period, following the team’s recent defeat to Nations FC.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered another setback on Sunday, succumbing to a 1-0 defeat against Nations FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Matchday 23 fixture.
The defeat has pushed Kotoko down to 9th position in the league standings, with just 32 points from 23 games. The team has only managed to secure 3 points out of a possible 18 in their last six matches.
In the aftermath of the loss to Nations FC, fans expressed their frustration, calling for changes within the technical team led by Head Coach Dr. Prosper Ogum Narteh.
However, Assistant Coach Davido Ocloo is urging the supporters to stand by the club during these challenging times and remain hopeful for a turnaround in fortunes.
“It’s a very difficult situation,” Ocloo acknowledged in a post-match interview.
“We need some time, it will come. They should forgive us for such a result, but they should keep supporting us, and we will not disappoint them.
“It’s not over yet. This is the time we need them most, so they shouldn’t neglect us. We will turn things around,” he assured.
Asante Kotoko will aim to bounce back when they face Bechem United in their upcoming Matchday 24 fixture at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, followed by a home game against Nsoatreman FC in Matchday 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
