Kwame Opoku has officially returned to Asante Kotoko, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club he once called home.
The 27-year-old striker is thrilled to reunite with the Porcupine Warriors, where he previously made a significant impact during the 2020/21 season.
In his first stint with Kotoko, Opoku tallied 6 goals and 3 assists in just 16 appearances, earning a transfer to USM Alger in Algeria. He later joined Moroccan side Olympique Khouribga, where he continued his career. Despite his ventures abroad, Opoku’s bond with Kotoko remained unbroken. After becoming a free agent, he began training with the team ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
“It’s an amazing feeling to be back at Kotoko,” Opoku shared after the announcement of his return. “This club has always been like home to me. I’m determined to help the team achieve great things. The fans have shown me so much love, even when I was away, and I’m ready to give my all on the pitch to make them proud.”
