German-born Ghanaian forward Jamie Leweling, says its It’s definitely good that the fans of Greuther Fürth are behind the club despite their massive defeat to RB Leipzig over the weekend.
The Ghanaian attacker scored the only consolation goal for Greuther Fürth as they suffered an embarrassing 1-6 loss to Leipzig at the Sportpark Ronhof | Thomas Sommer.
Speaking after the game, Leweling said: “It’s definitely good that the fans are behind us even after such a tough defeat. I think the 1-0 gave us a boost, but that’s the quality of Leipzig, just going on and playing their game. Then ten minutes later they make it 1-1, then 2-1 and then it just worked for them. Leipzig is the best team in the second half of the season and simply played their game mercilessly.
“We now want to play the final games as well as possible. We’re a good squad, we all get along well and we’ll do better again on Saturday against Freiburg.”
Jamie Leweling, 21, has netted five times in 26 appearances for Greuther Fürth this campaign.
