Jerome Otchere has revealed his excitement in seeing three players selected among the final 27-man squad to represent Ghana at the AFCON.
Speaking to Oyerepa FM’s Sometymer Otuo-Acheampong on Oyerpa Sports, the astute journalist said, “I am okay with the selected 27-man squad for the AFCON.
“It’s good that we have three players in the Black Stars from the Ghana Premier League for the 2023 AFCON”, added Jerome.
Asante Kotoko’s Richmond Lamptey and the Medeama duo of Jonathan Sowah and Fatawu Hamidu were the 3 players Chris Houghton included in his final 27-man squad for the AFCON.
Chances for Ghana Premier League players in the Black Stars recently have been scarce as many fans of the local game have complained bitterly about the Black Stars coach’s love for European-based players who most of the time don’t give their all for the team.
Many Ghanaians expect the local players to be given the chance to prove their worth in matches for Black Stars because they have the capabilities to deliver.
Ghana will play against Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.
