Ghana international Mohammed Kudus says he is excited about his first professional hat-trick in midweek and happy to find himself in the history books of Ajax.
The Ghanaian scored three goals in the 4-1 win over Ludogorets in the first leg of Ajax’s UEFA Europa League playoff round tie away from home on Thursday.
The 23-year-old was in blistering form against the Bulgarian side and made things comfortable for Ajax heading into the second leg of the fixture.
Speaking to Ajax’s media, the versatile player talked about the importance of the feat for him.
“It feels really good, especially for my first professional hat-trick but most importantly we got the win,” he said.
“Thanks to my teammates for all the assists. Everyone was on top and then we focus on the next game.
“It is nice to have my name in the history books. It’s a motivation for me to keep going.”
The game was also Kudus’ last game for the club as he is set to join Premier League side West Ham United over the weekend.
