Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, remains optimistic about his side’s chances in the Ghana Premier League title race despite their ongoing poor run of form.
The Porcupine Warriors are winless in their last four league matches, a stretch that includes a disappointing 3-0 loss to Accra Lions and a 2-0 defeat to Nations FC on Sunday at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
The latest setback leaves Kotoko in 4th place on the league table with 47 points from 28 games—putting their title ambitions under increasing pressure.
Speaking after the defeat, Ogum acknowledged the team’s struggles but remained defiant.
“Back-to-back defeats aren’t ideal, but as a technical team, we must keep the players motivated regardless of external pressure,” he said. “We’re fully behind them and we know what they’re capable of.”
“These are the same players who went several games unbeaten earlier in the season. That alone shows that we have what it takes to bounce back. Now we just need to sit down, assess things, and find solutions to turn it around.”
When asked whether the team was still in the title race, Ogum was clear: “The league is not over, so we keep working and playing the games.”
Asante Kotoko will be looking to end their winless streak when they host Aduana FC in a crucial Matchday 29 encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
