Sebastien Haller scored the winner in Ivory Coast’s triumph against Nigeria on Sunday night in Abidjan and was substituted by Emerse Fae due to an ankle injury.
Investigations on Friday morning in Dortmund have revealed that Haller’s ankle injury, which he sustained against Mainz in mid-December, has resumed and the attacker has to pause again for the time being.
It is unknown when the darling boy of Ivory Coast will return.
Sebastien Haller missed the entire group stage of the 2023 AFCON for Ivory Coast but was declared fit to play in the knockout phase.
The 29-year-old former Westham United and Ajax striker scored two crucial goals in the four knockout stage games he played as he scored the only goal in the semi-finals against DR and also the all-important goal against Nigeria in the finals.
