English-born defender of Ghanaian descent Jarell Quansah has been added to the England senior squad for their upcoming international duties.
Quansah who plays for Liverpool, replaces Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite who failed to overcome an injury from the weekend and will return to his club.
Quansah was originally part of the MU21 squad but trained with the seniors at St. George’s Park in recent days and will now come into contention for the UEFA Nations League fixtures against Greece and Republic of Ireland.
The uncapped 21-year-old was first called up to the Three Lions in May.
Meanwhile, Plymouth Argyle loanee Darko Gyabi and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who is also on loan at Sheffield United from Crystal Palace, have been added to Ben Futcher’s U-21 team for the first time ahead of the away matches in Spain and Netherlands.
