Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong continued his impressive form in the Bundesliga by scoring his third goal of the season in Bayer Leverkusen’s victory over Wolfsburg.
The newly-capped Dutch international opened the scoring just 13 minutes into the match after receiving a cross from Nigeria’s Victor Boniface.
Maxence Lacroix equalized for the host four minutes before half-time, but Frimpong turned from scorer to provider, setting up Alex Grimaldo for the winning goal in the 60th minute.
Frimpong has now contributed to eight goals in the league, with three goals and five assists.
Although there was potential for him to represent Ghana internationally, he decided to accept an invitation from Ronald Koeman to join the Dutch national team for the EURO 2024 qualifiers.
He made his debut for the Netherlands in a match against France.
