Jerome Osei Kyremeh opened the scoring for Stoke City U21 in the 13th minute, but the young side eventually suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town U21 in the Premier League 2.
The 17-year-old attacker gave Stoke a bright start with a well-taken goal that put his side ahead early in the contest. His strike demonstrated confidence and sharpness in front of goal, setting the tone for what looked like a promising afternoon for the Potters.
However, Ipswich Town U21 responded strongly after the break, overturning the deficit with two goals to claim all three points in the league encounter.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old left-back was introduced from the bench and featured for 26 minutes, adding energy to Stoke’s defensive line as they pushed for an equaliser.
Despite the loss, Kyremeh’s early goal and Oppong’s involvement remain positives for the young talents as they continue their development in Premier League 2.
