Jesse Bisiwu has opened his scoring account for Barcelona in impressive fashion, netting twice as the Spanish giants defeated Swiss side Basel 5–2 in a pre-season friendly.
The 18-year-old Ghanaian defender, who joined Barcelona this summer from Club Brugge, made a significant impact by scoring a brace as he continues his adaptation to life at the Catalan club.
Bisiwu’s two goals represent his first strikes since making the move to Barcelona and provide an early indication of his attacking threat despite primarily operating in defence.
The teenager is currently working to establish himself within Barcelona’s setup, with opportunities potentially coming with both the first team and the B team as he continues his development.
His brace against Basel is expected to further boost his confidence as he competes for a place within one of the world’s most renowned football academies.
For Ghana, Bisiwu’s progress will also be closely followed, with the young defender regarded as one of the emerging talents making strides at a major European club.
