John Antwi has played in Ghana, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in a career the 31-year-old will be extremely proud of when he retires from football.
He sat down on Thursday and discussed exactly what motivated him to return to Ghana and particularly to Dreams FC.
When asked what motivated him to return to Dreams FC and play in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, Duku said he wanted to share the little experience he has acquired on the continent to help the Still Believe in the Confederation Cup.
“I would say with the little experience I have acquired on the continent, I felt like joining the team for their CAF Confederation Cup campaign was going to at least help the competition. Also, Dreams is where I started my career and it’s like a family, so coming back to Dreams FC, I was going to feel at home,” disclosed the 31-year-old hitman.
John Antwi was quizzed to disclose how his experience in playing for various clubs in Kuwait, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia contributed to his performance with Dream FC.
“Well I think with the vast experience I acquired out there especially has really helped me with my performances with Dreams, looking at how I was able to score most of my career goals there. Also playing in the CAF competitions during my time in Egypt has help in how far Dreams have come in the CAF Confederation Cup,”.
John Antwi’s contribution to Dream’s journey can never be underestimated as he stepped up and scored a brace in Bamako in the first leg of the quarter-finals for Dreams when they went down against Stade Malien earlier in the first half to record a superb 2-1 away win which helped them qualified for the semi-finals.
The Still Believe will square off against Zamalek in the semi-finals.
