Ghana goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott has explained his decision to join Slovakian club FC Košice, saying the club’s ambitions and his desire to experience a new football environment played a major role in his decision.
The experienced goalkeeper believes the project at FC Košice is heading in the right direction and presented an opportunity for him to take on a fresh challenge in his career.
Wollacott said he was impressed by the significance of the club and the direction in which it is moving, which convinced him that the move was the right step for him.
“This project appealed to me. I saw that this is a significant club that is moving in the right direction. It is also a personal challenge for me to go abroad and try something new.”
The move to Slovakia represents another chapter in Wollacott’s career as he looks to establish himself at FC Košice and gain further experience outside Ghana.
The goalkeeper will now be hoping to make a strong impression at his new club and contribute to its ambitions while continuing his development at the highest level possible.
Wollacott has also been a regular part of Ghana’s national team setup in recent years, making his performances at club level important as he seeks to remain competitive for a place in the Black Stars squad.
