Argentine manager Miguel Angel Gamondi is on the verge of agreeing a two-year deal with Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars after talks have reached the final stage.

Per multiple sources in Tanzania, the former Young African coach is excited about the project of the club and is ready to help them for the 2025-26 season, where the club aims to qualify for the CAF Champions League.

58-year-old Miguel Angel Gamondi is a traveller on the African continent after managing clubs like Sundowns, Hassania, Platinum Stars, Belouizdad, USM Alger, Hassania Agadir, Mas Fez, Ittihad Tangier, Yanga and Al-Nasr, making him one of the most experienced managers on the continent. With much experience gained in Northern, Eastern and Southern Africa, Gamondi will have a real battle in Singida’s bid to dethrone one of Simba and Yanga.

Singida Black Stars finished 4th in the just ended Tanzania Ligi Kuu Bara after finishing a whooping 21 points behind second placed Simba, who occupied the final CAF Champions League slot.

Algerian-French tactician Miloud Hamdi was the last coach to manage the club since February 2025, when he lasted 36 days after he replaced Belgian coach Patrick Aussems in November 2024.

Currently, Singida Black Stars have four Ghanaian players in their squad: Jonathan Sowah, Emmanuel Keyekeh, Frank Assinki and Ibrahim Imoro. They will get the opportunity to work with the experienced Gamondi.
