Crystal Palace’s Ghanaian forward, Jordan Ayew, is facing an uncertain future at the Premier League club as new manager Oliver Glasner looks to revamp the squad.
Ayew, who joined the Eagles in 2018, may be on his way out this summer as he falls down the pecking order.
Despite initially joining on loan from Swansea City, Ayew secured a permanent move to Crystal Palace as a free agent. However, with his contract set to expire in June 2025 and his playing time reduced towards the end of the last season, the 32-year-old striker’s future at the club is in doubt.
Ayew made 37 appearances across all competitions last season, contributing four goals and eight assists. Despite his impressive stats and accolades, including being named Crystal Palace Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, and winning Goal of the Season in the 2019/20 campaign, Glasner’s preference for other attacking options like Mateta, Olise, and Eze could see Ayew seeking opportunities elsewhere for more regular playing time.
As Crystal Palace prepares for the upcoming season, the club is making significant changes to the squad, potentially leading to Ayew’s departure. His experience and versatility have been valuable assets, but the evolving dynamics under Glasner may see the Ghanaian forward moving on to continue his career. This summer could mark the end of Ayew’s time at Selhurst Park as Palace looks to balance their roster and explore new attacking options.
