Former England star Hargreaves says Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew plays like England great David Beckham following his fine form against South Korea at the Education City Stadium on Monday.
Ayew, set up two goals in the Black Stars’ hard-fought win over the Asian side to give Ghana its first victory at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Speaking on Supersports, in reaction to the Black Stars win, he said: “Jordan Ayew is playing like David Beckham and to be fair, Thomas Partey in the midfield, they tried a bit of composition, they looked comfortable,”
He added that: “I like this calm, comfortable possession, but look at this guy Kudus and that is a brilliant goal from the best player on the pitch.”
Ghana will next play old foes Uruguay on Friday and either a win or draw would be enough to get the 2010 quarterfinalists a play in the round 16 knock out stage.
