Ghanaian winger Joseph Opoku marked another milestone in his Swansea City career by scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 pre-season victory over Spanish side Leganés on Saturday.
The 20-year-old found the back of the net for the first time in Swansea colours, producing the decisive moment in an impressive all-round performance. Opoku’s pace, direct running and intelligent movement caused constant problems for the Leganés defence as the Championship side continued their preparations for the 2026/27 season.
The former Zulte Waregem star was one of Swansea’s standout performers, combining his attacking threat with relentless pressing and creativity to help the Welsh club secure another positive pre-season result.
Opoku joined Swansea this summer after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign with Belgian club Zulte Waregem, where he recorded 10 goals and six assists in 34 league appearances. The highly-rated Ghanaian signed a four-year contract, with the club holding the option to extend his stay by an additional year.
