Ghanaian international Joseph Paintsil has secured a well-deserved spot in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Week for Round nine, courtesy of his stellar display for LA Galaxy.
The versatile forward exhibited his skills during LA Galaxy’s showdown against Vancouver Whitecaps, playing a pivotal role in his team’s 3-1 triumph at the BC Place Stadium.
Paintsil’s impact was evident throughout the game, as he not only found the back of the net but also provided a crucial assist, showcasing his adaptability and creative prowess.
Following a tightly contested first half, Paintsil netted LA Galaxy’s second goal in response to Vancouver Whitecaps’ equalizer, swiftly followed by an assist for Diego Fagundez’s goal, securing his team’s victory.
This standout performance further cements Paintsil’s growing influence in the MLS since his move from KRC Genk. With three goals and three assists in just eight MLS matches, the 26-year-old has emerged as a valuable asset for LA Galaxy.
The victory against Vancouver Whitecaps propelled LA Galaxy to the summit of the MLS table in the Western Conference, amassing 15 points from eight games.
As Paintsil continues to excel at the club level, he will also aim to maintain his form in Ghana’s upcoming crucial matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
