Asante Kotoko are in advanced talks to sign former Serie A midfielder Afriyie Acquah in case the Porcupine Warriors qualify for the 2022/23 CAF Champions League, SportsWorldGhana.com understands.
Kotoko lead the Ghana Premier League standings on 52 points after 24 games – eight more points over second-placed Bechem United.
The winner of the Ghanaian elite championship enters the most prestigious CAF club competition and Prosper Ogum wants to add more experienced players to his team.
The 2015 AFCON finalist with the Black Stars has said in the past that should he consider playing in the Ghana league, B/A United and Kotoko will be his first choices.
Acquah is currently a free agent after leaving Saudi side Al Batin in January this year and could join big names in the Ghanaian game like Sulley Muntari and Samuel Inkoom both current players of Hearts of Oak.
