New West Ham United recruit Kalvin Phillips is thrilled about his recent move to the club and is particularly enthusiastic about teaming up with Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus.
Phillips, who recently secured a loan deal from Manchester City, had faced challenges securing playing time at his former club, Leeds United, despite achieving a treble last season. Now, as he embarks on a new chapter with West Ham, Phillips is eager to share the pitch with players of Mohammed Kudus’s caliber.
Expressing his excitement after completing the transfer, Phillips stated, “I’m just so thrilled to kick off this new journey. I’m aware of the quality within the team. When you observe players like Lucas Paquetá and Mohammed Kudus, along with the entire squad, it’s impossible not to be excited.”
Mohammed Kudus has already made a significant impact in his debut season at West Ham, showcasing his prowess with six goals and an assist in 16 English Premier League games. Additionally, he left a mark in his first Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign by netting two goals in two appearances for Ghana’s Black Stars during the 2023 AFCON.
