Karela United is currently engaged in negotiations with defender Maxwell Agyemang, who has recently left Asante Kotoko, according to a report by Mo Shaban.
Agyemang is part of a group of eleven players recommended by Asante Kotoko’s new technical team to explore opportunities elsewhere.
Originally joining Asante Kotoko from Division One club Wamanfo Mighty Royals in 2021 on a three-year contract, Agyemang showcased his defensive prowess with commendable performances. However, the technical team led by Dr. Ogum has indicated that he does not feature in their future plans.
In response, discussions between the 27-year-old center-back and Karela United are reportedly in advanced stages, with hopes of finalizing a transfer ahead of the upcoming football season.
Karela United faces competition from fellow Premier League teams, including Hearts of Oak and Real Tamale United, in their pursuit of Agyemang.
Agyemang played a crucial role in Asante Kotoko’s victory in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, contributing significantly to their title-winning campaign under the guidance of Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
