Karim Zito says Asante Kotoko are prepared to fight through a growing injury crisis as they get ready for Wednesday’s MTN FA Cup clash against Future Stars FC.
The head coach stressed that his team must adapt quickly despite losing several key defenders. He noted that the upcoming match is crucial as Kotoko look to lift their confidence after a difficult run in the league.
Kotoko have collected only two points from their last four Premier League games, scoring three goals and conceding five. The drop in performance has pushed them to fifth on the table, five points behind leaders Medeama SC.
Zito acknowledged the tough period but insisted that the team will not use injuries as an excuse. He explained that players in the central defensive positions have been hit hardest, with Ansu, Ablorh and Samba all sidelined. He added that the team will reorganise and remain competitive in Wednesday’s Round of 64 tie.
The FA Cup encounter will be played at Okese Park on Wednesday, December 10, with kick-off at 3pm.
