Three coaches have earned nominations for the NASCO Coach of the Month award for November after guiding their teams to strong and eye-catching performances. The contenders are Asante Kotoko’s Abdul Karim Zito, Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford, and Basake Holy Stars manager Augustine Evans Adotey.
Abdul Karim Zito – Asante Kotoko
Zito enjoyed an impressive month with Kotoko despite facing a demanding match schedule. The Porcupine Warriors played eight games—more than any other team—and avoided defeat in seven of them. Kotoko finished the month with three victories, four draws, and just one loss. They also netted 11 goals, the highest tally among the nominees, while conceding eight.
Bashir Hayford – Heart of Lions
Bashir Hayford continued his fine form, earning back-to-back nominations. Heart of Lions remained unbeaten throughout November, chalking up two wins and three draws. They scored six goals and allowed only three—making them the strongest defensively among the three nominated coaches. Hayford’s guidance has lifted the team to second place on the league table with 23 points, sitting just behind the leaders on goal difference.
Augustine Evans Adotey – Basake Holy Stars
Adotey inspired a big turnaround at Basake Holy Stars in November. His team finally escaped the relegation zone after a series of improved performances. Holy Stars picked up three wins—two of them back-to-back—alongside one draw and two losses in their six outings. They found the back of the net 10 times but also conceded eight goals.
The eventual winner of the NASCO November Coach of the Month Award will receive a 40-inch television and a NASCO chest freezer.
