Hearts of Oak have continued their preparations for the upcoming season with an impressive 4-1 victory over lower-tier club Lazio Spot in a friendly match.
This match was significant as it marked the debut of newly appointed coach Martin Koopman, who occupied the bench for the first time since his recent unveiling last week.
Demonstrating their prowess, the Phobians secured a convincing win by finding the net four times, while their third-tier opponents managed to score one goal in response.
Newly signed Hearts of Oak striker Kashala Ramos Wanet showcased his goal-scoring abilities by achieving a hat-trick, while former Asekem forward Martin Karikari added another goal to the team’s tally.
This impressive triumph follows Hearts of Oak’s dominant performance against another lower-tier team, Miracle Land FC, where they secured a commanding 11-1 victory at the Pobiman Football Complex.
Hearts of Oak initially had plans to compete against city rivals Great Olympics in the 2023 Homowo Cup. However, due to Great Olympics’ last-minute withdrawal from the match, Hearts of Oak had to adapt their plans accordingly.
Looking forward, Hearts of Oak are working diligently to kick off the new season with strength as they travel to Tamale for their opening match against Real Tamale United.
