Sports director of Austrian Second Division Side First Vienna FC Andreas Ivanschitz says the club is happy to sign former FC Porto II striker, Kelvin Owusu Boateng.
According to him, the former FC Spartak Trnava of Slovakia player impressed everyone at the club which prompted the club to sign him up for the upcoming season.
Sports director Andreas Ivanschitz:
“Kelvin has convinced us in the training sessions of the last few weeks and we are happy that we were able to reach an agreement with Trnava and that the change has now worked out.”
“With his physique and ball security, he brings a new quality to our attack and I am sure that he will give us a lot of pleasure”, he said in an interview with the club’s website.
Boateng made the leap to Europe via Desportivo Aves. With the Portuguese, he first played for the U19 team before he was promoted to the U23. The 23-year-old made 32 appearances for Aves’ U23s and scored 12 goals.
In the spring, Boateng was loaned out by Aves to FC Porto, where he played 22 games for the B team and scored four goals. In 2021, the 1.84 m tall striker moved to Spartak Trnava in the Czech Republic.
