Assistant coach of the Black Stars, George Boateng, has revealed the 2022 Kirin Cup was a good test for the national team ahead of their preparations for the World Cup.
Ghana was among four nations to have participated in the 2022 edition of the Cup with the others being the host nation, Japan, Chile and Tunisia.
The Black Stars finished third after losing to Japan and beating Chile on penalties.
Boateng in an interview with Joy Sports said the tournament gave the technical a clue to what to expect at the Mundial.
“Games against Japan and Chile give us an idea of what we are going to expect when we play South Korea and Uruguay,” he said.
“So these types of friendly games are really good for the coaches but also for the players to get an idea of what to expect once we get to the World Cup.”
